What you will learn:
The Travel Technology Essentials course is a practical, common-sense guide to the technologies that drive the modern business of travel. Topics range from the Internet to the Web and Web 2.0; to business-grade telephony and Voice over IP (VoIP); to travel-specific technology frameworks used for distribution, aggregation, and sales. The course also covers marketing, revenue accounting, data management, CRM, business intelligence, logistics, and more… painting a holistic “big picture” view of the global travel technology landscape.

As you move through the course, you will learn about all of the tools needed to set up a complete travel e-commerce website and work through real-world case studies of travel offices and call centers. You will learn about traditional GDS-based travel distribution frameworks, emerging competitors like Global New Entrants (GNEs), and newer travel technology models including Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs).

With many graphics and animations, interactive elements, hands-on work, and colorful text… the course keeps students engaged as it opens their eyes to what it takes to succeed in the modern business of travel and tourism.

Afterward, they will see the travel industry in a whole new light.

This will take the average student approximately 2 to 3 months to complete, completing 2 to 3 lessons per week.

After your enrolment is processed, (may take up to 24 hours depending on when you register) an Account ID and Password will give you access to the course which is delivered entirely online.

Divided topics, lessons, drills and exercises followed by quizes and final assessment to demonstrate competency. It is important to take each quiz as the questions reinforce the learning process and help you to remember the key learning points.

You should complete the material within 3 – 4 months ideally for maximum retention but you have access to the material for 6 months after registration – at which time your access will expire. By this time you should have also completed the final assessment tasks.

What do I need

Good English Skills and a knowledge of a CRS is desirable. Hayton College courses are accessed from a computer using the internet. Basic PC skills along with keyboarding skills are required to complete Hayton College courses.
